Club Rules

Tennis and Paddle Etiquette

  1. Show proper attitude, display good manners, and be polite to employees, members, and guests.
  2. Know the rules of tennis and the Code of tennis behavior. The Code helps us show grace during competition; for example, “give your opponent the benefit on doubtful calls” and “return the serve only if you intend to play the point.”
  3. Be willing to play with players of all ability levels; make new friends. 
  4. Do not cross the courts to retrieve balls from neighboring courts, neighbors are to return balls at their first opportunity. 
  5. Control your temper. Avoid profanity, excessive noises, racquet abuse, ball abuse, etc.
  6. Go to and from courts quickly and quietly.

Beverly Hills Tennis Club Guest Policy

  1. Without exception, every member introducing a guest or guests to the club shall be personally responsible for the conduct and indebtedness of such guests. All guests are required to abide by the rules of the club, including wearing white tennis apparel. 
  2. A non-member of the club may be introduced as a guest and permitted the privileges of the club. An individual may be introduced as the guest of the member no more than five times in a single season. 
  3. The guest fee is $15/day/guest for those 12 years old and older. No fee for children under 12.
  4. All members should register their guests (first and last names) with the staff on duty beforethe guest begins playing.
  5. Guests are permitted on the courts only when playing with a member. The member and guest(s) shall be limited to one court.
  6. Any member desiring to invite more than three guests at any one time may do so with the permission of the club manager.

Rules for Children and Junior Play

  1. Children ages 12 and over have the same privileges as adults on weekdays until 3:00 PM. 
  2. Unaccompanied minors are not allowed on the paddle courts or in the Clubhouse without parental supervision.
  3. Children under 12 years of age may be dismissed from the tennis courts by waiting adults at any time, but not another junior member.
  4. Children may play with their parents at any time. 
  5. Children must be dressed in proper attire at the club; this includes proper white tennis attire while playing tennis.
  6. Children under 8 years of age must be accompanied and supervised by an adult or other reliable person.
  7. Club employees are not allowed to babysit or supervise children while working at the club.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the clubhouse and all club grounds with the exception of the eastern-most part of the deck. Smokers must remain more than 15 feet from any clubhouse doors and windows.
